There's more to it than this. But, in an effort to avoid a sprawling description of what I do, it's easiest to just say that I am a Dublin-based American freelance writer, photographer, and web publisher.

I've written in one form or another for most of my life. Now it's my living. I'll write about anything. That's good because, over time, journalism takes you just about everywhere, and forces you to open your eyes to the world, giving you the opportunity to learn about subjects you'd never heard of before you went looking under rocks and knocking on doors.

I travel because it inspires me, and I write about travel because I want it to inspire others.

I shoot pictures because someone once said a picture is worth a thousand words, and, well, there you have it.

I also write about theatre and film, two forms of expression that I have spent a sizable part of my life working in and around, and generally in awe of the people who do it well. Because I've been there and done that, I even have great respect for the people who aren't so "great" at it, but pour their hearts into the effort. Often there is as much heart and soul in "bad" art as in "good". It's the heart and soul that make it magical. That's why I write about theatre and film.

This is not a complete record, and likely never will be, but this site is as close to representative of my work as it gets.

Take a look, and, if you have a comment/question, or if you think we can work together, drop me a line.
