As a writer/photographer who specializes in travel, film, food, and the performing arts (dance, theatre, opera, street performance, etc), and the cultural aspects of "place", I tend to travel a great deal in search of stories. My destinations are not always exotic, but they are all engaging, interesting, and a limitless source of stories worth sharing.

Here's a list of where I've been and what I've done recently (in the past 12 months):

- Mardi Gras in 'The Big Easy' - I had an amazing time in New Orleans. Good food, good people, great parades, and the chance to see how this city manages to host such a big event and not actually lose control or its soul.

As a result of this trip, I'm working on features about Muriel's Jackson Square restaurant, Pat O'Brien's bar, Slim Goodies Diner, the St. Anne Parade, and family-friendly Mardi Gras tips for New Orleans. These will all appear on All About Mardi Gras in the next month to six weeks. (posted April 26, 2014)

- Mardi Gras in 'The Big Easy' - I'll be in NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana)from Friday, February 28, through Wednesday, March 5, 2014 to profile Mardi Gras parades, events, parties, and year-round travel attractions for All About Mardi Gras, as well as doing research for future print assignments. - Airline Waste Management - My article about the efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle appeared in the December 2013 issue of Airline Passenger Experience (APEX). Click here to read the digital magazine version.

- Rosemary Beach, Florida - My article about luxury beach bumming in Rosemary Beach (on the Florida Panhandle) was published in the Irish Times Saturday Weekend Magazine on August 3, 2013. Click here to read the online version.
